A VIEW OF THE WORLD THROUGH MY CAMERA LENS

Idea

Isn’t it wonderful ?! I mean the idea of god or gods (depends were you were born)! Somebody out there bigger than anything and anybody, that loves you unconditionally provided that you follow some simple rules, somebody or something omnipresent that cares for you, guides you in the right direction and if it so happens that you go in the wrong direction ,will still forgive your mistakes no matter what. An entity that knows what are you doing at all times, what are you eating, what are you drinking, when are you sleeping and with whom , that will punish the bad and will protect the good, that decides when are you going to die and by which means and takes good or bad care of your soul thereafter…for eternity. A deity that nurtures all beings, decides what happens with every living thing from conception till death and controls every aspect of life. The one and only that created everything and everybody , that keeps a haven for those who follow him and a hell for heretics , for the infidels or sinners.

Sure you must be born and brought up in that deity’s congregation or “regime” if you wish for all the above to happen, but who cares as long as we have somebody to blame for every thing that we do, for all that happens , as long as we are enslaved by believes and superstitions. I guess it does not matter that our kids are taught creation rather than evolution , astrology rather then astronomy or alchemy rather than chemistry in schools and educationally, emotionally and mentally we go back in time thousands of years rather than progress and move into the 21st century where Hubble telescope looks deep into space for possible new worlds, where we seek true answers for the origins of everything and were almost all information and knowledge in the world is available at a click of a mouse.

Somebody was contradicting what I just wrote saying that we progress as way back we used to believe in multiple gods, today most of the world believes in only one god (whichever that one may be) and slowly but surely we head to the true number of gods we should believe in -NONE (isn’t that a scary taught for a lot of you out there !??) .

An experiment was once proposed by a great thinker of our time, Chritopher Hitchens. He said that we should create a society that follows the believes of Voltaire , Einstein and others like them. By now we know that religion doesn’t work as well as we hopped and maybe, just maybe…the proposed civilization will do better. At the end we definitely don’t loose nothing if we try.

Just to close my random session of thoughts, the idea of god is as wonderful as sleeping at the edge of an erupting volcano while lava and ash are blown up in the air and fall like burning cannon balls everywhere . While this might be great for some mad scientists and for some suicidal and depresses sociopaths who just got bitten by the world recession, I bet the rest of the world will try a different place to take their afternoon beauty nap.

The photos don’t have much to do with the subject above ( i guess in a strange way they just might…)…but i still hope you will enjoy them. Your comments are more than welcomed.

Interesting post. I’ve heard a lot of believers say the same thing Earl Harris said. Unfortunately, the assumption that many believers make, is that non-believers simply haven’t looked for God. And if they did look, without finding Him, then they are must not be looking hard enough. In truth, I think that many non-believers have sincerely looked for God. However, unlike believers, they are less apt to attribute natural, random occurrences into so-called evidence for the existence of God.

  2. Beautiful post. Agree 100%. And besides, do we really need this bronze age concept of the world lurking among us? God served a purpose, that i think became irrelevant in this days. Knowledge is the enemy of faith, and we know why…hehehe ( by the way, just start following you blog )

  3. I suppose a belief in God is a lot like finding a great shot; you can’t see if you don’t look.

  4. Very interesting post. Reading something like this really takes me into the place of reflection about my faith. Many years ago I used to meditate on similar “idea”, questioning in every way the validity of the existence of God. I work in the medical field, a practice that’s heavily based on science and rationalized, evidenced-based interventions, and I have seen so many cases which remain unexplainable even with current knowledge and research. I do not say that it was because of those cases that I started believing in God – it was my own journey that brought be into a personal encounter with Him (not certainly because I was told so or because I have no choice but to credit the unexplainalble to a higher being or something).

I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you for sharing your idea. It made me remember where I was before.

I should say that you have beautiful photos there. And I could actually see that they’re connected with the words you’ve written (strange as it may sound).

    Journey well…

  6. as always I am extremely impressed with your writing and the way you softly and intelligently push both your ideas and truths.
They are, real, honest and with purpose. The thought and purpose you have for your opinion is a good one… I would both agree and disagree. I do think I have similar belief, I do however, think there IS something… now if I suggest it to be an all powerful, all mighty “god” of some sorts… then I personally find myself giggling and thinking no way! The idea that one being is suppose to take care of EVERYTHING… I know this will offend some, but, there is, in my opinion NO WAY this is true… he or she, if were REAL has really seriously dropped the proverbial ball, and gots MAJOR explaining to do… if that were the reality of this then! I mean if someone were really there… I get that “WE” as humans are suppose to figure stuff out on our own… but… aren’t we also suppose to look upon this higher being for help? guidance? hope? everything/happiness? if this were the case… this being has taken one long vacation or perhaps is sitting back allowing us to REALLY take the ‘wheel’ and figure our lives out?!
My opinions are based upon my beliefs which are in the realm of Agnostic (A person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God) I mean no disrespect to someone’s higher belief system, but, I do find it odd that if you are so passionate about said religion, you cannot handle someone choosing another path, another belief and said persons become wildly defensive and angry for anyone that ‘dare’ challenge the “High and Mighty”.
Thanks for pushing said envelope! well done…
as for the photographs… BEAUTIFUL! personally, I love daisies… and wild flowers… lovely choice regardless if they don’t intentionally match the blog post/entry.
